How to deal with loneliness in a new city where you have arrived on a short tour and have a lot of free time?
Now with the Internet, we can make friends with people everywhere in the world. Then, we may just send them our itinerary sometimes before our departure. This is my happy experience in my previous trips to Thailand, the US and even to Bolivia. In Bolivia, people use Spanish, we will get into great difficulty if we don’t have friends who speak English.
I FEEL THAT I AM LIVING IN A COMPLETELY NEWER WORLD THAN THAT OF MY FATHER. The world before my father was not different from his. My father got a job in the country until the day of his retirement and received his pension. I have to go though various jobs and finally receive no pension.
I and my siblings live in the same city with my parents; now each of my children lives in a different country. In the family of my parents, we speak the same national language; now my children and granchildren use many languages in their daily life.
Before, there had been no Internet, my ancestors did not have to worry about world pollution, world trade, world conventions on all sorts of things.
It seems that they had a more peaceful life than me, and they might have felt that I would conduct a life with not much difference from theirs. My father had guided me into the first job of my life in the railway company like him.
The difference between me and my children is much diverse. And I cannot imagine the complete difference with the world of my grandchildren. I cannot understand some movies that they are watching with great enjoyment. I am really backward, although I keep on surfing the Internet every day!
I am very, very happy with this spectacular transformation. The slumbering ‘egg humanity’ has become the awakened ‘chicken humanity’. Now I am opening widely my eyes to see the beauty of the growing chicken. And I am fully thankful to God for the privilege of living in this greatly meaningful turning point of the human history.
Hello ‘chicken humannity’, I wish to hear your magnificently melodious chant in the days to come.
