The story of Job is very, very beautiful. It is really hard to reach this station, but it can be considered as an ideal lesson of certitude in the Old Testament told to people thousands of years ago.

How such an evil being like Satan can exist and act as an opponent of God? And, more funnily, how God allows him to come to God many times to present his evil schemes, and how can he continue to cause fear to humanity, after such bitter failure in testing the faith of Job? In reality, all stories in the Holy Books are only parables for our thinking and meditation, because human languages cannot express the divine truth.

The story shows to us the unshakable faith of Job before all sorts of calamities: the loss of his possessions, the loss of his loved ones, and particularly the loss of his own comforts with unbearable diseases.

Nowadays, we know that the mature humanity can happily bear all calamities like Job, without expecting the physical compensation of a thousandfold. True faith is offering our properties, our lives and even our souls on the altar of God, without expecting any recompense. Because, even the reward of paradise is only a product of God; while our reality is the real image and likeness of God.

In this Age of maturity of the human race, Baha’u’llah taught the eternal truth with new symbols, new laws, new lights, and trained us in our application with new institutions. This divine education is raising us up from our tombs of prejudices, to start a new life of learning and servitude in the realm of the good pleasure of the One True God, the Creator and Sustainer of all worlds.
