WHATS WRONG WITH THE WORLD?

Whats wrong with the world?

People of no experiences about four seasons
may think that there is something wrong in winter.
Kids of traditionally wealthy families may think
that starvation is something wrong.
Creatures living in deep waters may feel that
life does not exist on land.
The world is now moving on its right direction
towards a higher level in an ever-advancing civilization.

Abdul-Baha says:

“In the estimation of historians this radiant century is equivalent to one hundred centuries of the past. If comparison be made with the sum total of all former human achievements it will be found that the discoveries, scientific advancement and material civilization of this present century have equaled, yea far exceeded the progress and outcome of one hundred former centuries. The production of books and compilations of literature alone bear witness that the output of the human mind in this century has been greater and more enlightening than all the past centuries together. It is evident therefore that this century is of paramount importance. (Abdu’l-Baha, Baha’i World Faith – Abdu’l-Baha Section, p. 227)

IS LOVE THE FOUNDATION OF ALL RELIGONS?

Is love the foundation of all religons?

Asked By: franco33 44 minutes ago

in christianity love is expressed through Jesus which is the foundation of that religon. so what about other religons is love the foundation of them too? i know religious extremist seem to loose sight of their love trying to prove their point but are all religons founded on love?

Good Question? (4)

Answer by pukirahe Aug 17th, 2011 at 5:30AM

Yes, because God is love.
Christ is the Holy Spirit, hence it is not wrong to consider Him as God.
Other Founders of revealed Religions are also the Manifestations of
the Holy Spirit from Age to Age to show mankind the way back
closer and closer to God.
It is completely wrong to show enemity to any one, because
all are the children of God, whether they know or know not this reality.
When the faithful in God practice selfless love, the heedless ones
will rethink. Yes, by the fruit, the Tree is known.

Abdul-Baha says:

“”This movement eludes organization — it is the realization of a new spirit. The foundation of that spirit is the love of God; and its method, the love and service of mankind. Many who have never heard of this revelation teach its laws and spiritual truths. These people are performing what BAHA’O’LLAH hath commanded though they never heard of him. The power of BAHA’U’LLAH’S words is compelling — therefore, you must know and love them. For instance, in the spring season trees burst forth into verdure, though they are not conscious of the sunshine, of the falling rain or the gentle breeze — nevertheless, the power of nature urges them on to yield forth their fruits.” (Abdu’l-Baha, Divine Philosophy, p. 15)

WHY DO YOU ABHOR ABORTION?

Which criminal act do you feel is the worst?

Answer by pukirahe Aug 17th, 2011 at 3:28AM

I personally feel that abortion is.
Because the kids are pure,
great and indefensible.
If a person could act against such a near
and saintly being, he will not avoid any
other crimes.

“Abortion and surgical operations for the purpose of preventing the birth of unwanted children are forbidden in the Cause unless there are circumstances which justify such actions on medical grounds, in which case the decision, at present, is left to the consciences of those concerned who must carefully weigh the medical advice in the light of the general guidance given in the Teachings. Beyond this nothing has been found in the Writings concerning specific methods or procedures to be used in family planning. It should be pointed out, however, that the Teachings state that the soul appears at conception, and that therefore it would be improper to use such a method, the effect of which would be to produce an abortion after conception has taken place.” (Lights of Guidance, p. 344)

Abdul-Baha says:

“Man has a sacred power which permits him to discover the inner significances, the reality of invisible things. Ponder over these statements, so that the portals of divine wisdom and infinite knowledge may open before thy face.

I wish to awaken you out of your deep slumber. Do you know in what day you are living? Do you realize in what dispensation you exist? Have you not read in the holy scriptures that at the consummation of the ages there would dawn a day — the sum total of all past days? This is the day when the Lord of hosts hath come on the clouds of glory.” (Abdu’l-Baha, Divine Philosophy, p. 37)

WHAT IS A RIDICULOUS ZEN KOAN?

What is a ridiculous zen koan you can think up?

Asked By: knel123 7 hours ago

A zen master was walking down a path, with two students, and they came upon an elephant sitting in the path. The zen master poked it with a stick and it did not move. The master asked the students “What is up with this thing, why is it such a douchebag” And then he walked around it, with the students following close behind.
Such is the way of the tao.

Good Question? (5)

Answer by pukirahe Aug 16th, 2011 at 9:04PM

All Zen koans are ridiculous.
Zen has no laws, no teachings, no goals.
It causes the misunderstanding about Buddhism
which is the Divine Cause initiated by the Lord Buddha.
Sufi is much better for its encouragement to meditate on
the teachings of Muhammad concerning the mystery of the signs
and worlds of God.

Yes, all religions are rationally and scientifically mystic.

“The thoughts thou hast expressed as to the interpretation of the common species of bird that is called in Persian Gunjishk (sparrow) were considered. [1] Thou appearest to be well-grounded in mystic truth. However, on every plane, to every letter a meaning is allotted which relateth to that plane. Indeed, the wayfarer findeth a secret in every name, a mystery in every letter. In one sense, these letters refer to holiness.”

SHOULD THE AMERICAN TAXPAYERS HAVE TO FOOT THE BILL?

Should the American taxpayers have to foot the bill for two custom buses for the president to go out campaigning on?

Asked By: LoneBlogger 39 minutes ago

At a time when we’re cutting back on luxuries, the president is spending more millions on custom buses for his campaigning activities. “Bus Force One” as it’s called is a gross waste of money during hard times, in my opinion. It just reinforces the comments that Obama is throwing everybody under the bus.

 THE NEED OF DIVINE EDUCATION

“In the books of the prophets certain glad-tidings are recorded which are absolutely true and free from doubt. The East has ever been the dawning-point of the Sun of Reality. All the prophets of God have appeared there. The religions of God have been promulgated, the teachings of God have been spread and the law of God founded in the East. The Orient has always been the center of lights. The West has acquired illumination from the East but in some respects the reflection of the light has been greater in the Occident.” (Abdu’l-Baha, Foundations of World Unity, p. 71)

Abdul-Baha says:

“Therefore His Holiness Bahá’u’lláh fifty years ago, expounded this question of Universal Peace at a time when he was confined in the fortress of ‘Akká and was wronged and imprisoned. He wrote about this matter of Universal Peace to all the great sovereigns of the world, and established it among his friends in the Orient. The horizon of the East was in utter darkness, nations displayed the utmost hatred and enmity towards each other, religions thirsted for each other’s blood, and it was darkness upon darkness. At such a time His Holiness Bahá’u’lláh shone forth like the sun from the horizon of the East and illumined Persia with the light of these teachings.” (Abdu’l-Baha, Foundations of World Unity, p. 28)

Abdul-Baha says:

“Therefore, the spirit is the bounty of God, the water is knowledge and life, and the fire is the love of God. For material water does not purify the heart of man; no, it cleanses his body. But the heavenly water and spirit, which are knowledge and life, make the human heart good and pure; the heart which receives a portion of the bounty of the Spirit becomes sanctified, good and pure — that is to say, the reality of man becomes purified and sanctified from the impurities of the world of nature. These natural impurities are evil qualities: anger, lust, worldliness, pride, lying, hypocrisy, fraud, self-love, etc.” (Abdu’l-Baha, Some Answered Questions, p. 92)
