Because of their selfless and unconditional love,
parents used to trust their children without a little doubt.
They would be extremely surprised if their children
acted against them. Asking of questions is also a manner
to express love and care. The parents cannot show
suspicion when their children answer clearly and sincerely.
He whose parents cannot trust him should show more
love and obedience to win their parents’ hearts. If he fails with his parents, he may fail more easily with strangers.

The Bab says:
“It is seemly that the servant should, after each prayer, supplicate God to bestow mercy and forgiveness upon his parents. Thereupon God’s call will be raised: ‘Thousand upon thousand of what thou hast asked for thy parents shall be thy recompense!’ Blessed is he who remembereth his parents when communing with God. There is, verily, no God but Him, the Mighty, the Well-Beloved.” (The Bab, Selections from the Writings of the Bab, p. 94)
