Beauty Pageants: Helpful or Harmful?

Good Question? (5)

Harmful.
Beauty is not in the eyes of beholders,
especially inner beauty.
Such competions cause too much waste
of time, money and labor. Moreover it gives
too much stress on physical attraction, which
is not the true esteem of human beings.
Such efforts should be directed to education
that will create builders of a richer, more peaceful,
more beautiful world.
No beauty queens can be compared to an
educated mother who knows how to educate
her children.

Abdul-Baha says:

“Arise! Put forth a supreme effort, secure some new and heavenly attraction – that this Europe may be set in motion, for it is lamentable that it should be deprived of the heavenly wisdom; lamentable that it knows nothing of the heavenly rays; that is has not the health of the Holy Spirit; that a being of such great beauty should have no soul; that so exquisite a flower should have no scent; that so magnificent a structure should have no light. Do not remain inactive for one moment, perchance you may shed light in this darkness.”

My last words are for anyone on earth.
Education for all people, especially girls,
potential mothers and first teachers of mankind.
Love, it is foundation of all physical and spiritual
existence.
Unity under the guidance of God to secure
peace, prosperity, progress.
Civilization, higher and higher civilization
is the most beautiful fruit of intelligent beings.
Only 4 words: Education, Love, Unity, Ciivilization.
They must be connected under the guidance of God.

IS HATE NECESSARY IN THIS WORLD?

Is hate necessary in this world?

Asked By: Ortinbras (18-21, M) 22 minutes ago

Posted by pukirahe Nov 6th, 2012 at 3:26PM

Yes, hate is very necessary.
The world will only become better when
I firmly hate ignorance in me and try my best
to attain knowledge.
Everybody know that education will annihilate
ignorance, but which education is good that
is another problem. Many educated people
are still quarrelling and standing on deadly
opposing fronts! That is why I keep on adding
the word ‘proper’ to education – the education
that leads all people to love, unity and peace.
I don’t hate people, I only hate ignorance. And I
pray that proper education will be provided to
all people. I am heartfully thankful to God
for enabling mankind to place all Holy Books
on the Internet.

Baha’u’llah says:

“I know full well Thou hast delayed to manifest Thy triumph in the kingdom of creation by reason of Thy knowledge which embraceth both the mysteries of Thy decree, and the hidden things ordained behind the veils of Thine irrevocable purpose, that thereby those who have entered beneath the shadow of Thy transcendent mercy may be separated from those who have dealt disdainfully with Thee, and turned back from Thy presence at the time when Thou didst manifest Thy most exalted Beauty.”

WHAT DID YOU WANT TO BE?

As a child what did you want to be when you grew up?

I wanted to be a lawyer, then I realized that is way too much schooling.

I wanted to be the Buddha.
I knew vaguely that Prince Siddharta
attained enlightenment through religious
practice, so He could teach mankind how
to live without sufferings. But I could not find
His original teachings, so I decided to seek
enlightenment for my own self to revive His
dharma of salvation.
Then, I learned and knew that Buddha is Holy Spirit
and there is no way for me to attain His station.
Now I keep on learning religious teachings
and conduct my life as all other human beings,
with some new concepts:
Man is the intelligent being.
He is the greater universe.
His highest station is to become
a true believer of the most recent

Manifestation of the Holy Spirit.
This Manifestation is Baha’u'llah,
the Promised One of all religions….

Baha’u’llah says:

“2. O SON OF DESIRE! The learned and the wise have for long years striven and failed to attain the presence of the All-Glorious; they have spent their lives in search of Him, yet did not behold the beauty of His countenance. Thou without the least effort didst attain thy goal, and without search hast obtained the object of thy quest. Yet, notwithstanding, thou didst remain so wrapt in the veil of self, that thine eyes beheld not the beauty of the Beloved, nor did thy hand touch the hem of His robe. Ye that have eyes, behold and wonder.”

BEAUTY IN THE EYE OF BEHOLDER?

Is beauty truly in the eye of the beholder?

Asked By: TheLast0neToGo (16-17, F) 31 minutes ago

Or is it just some cliche? Why is there certain people whom everyone finds as beautiful and there the others whom nobody finds as such?

Natural beauty depends on beholder,
human beauty depends on inner development.
The more a person develops spiritually, the more
he becomes charismatic, attractive, admirable.
Art, music, poetry show the inner and invisible beauty
of human souls. The total beauty of the human race
reflects in a higher and higher civilization.
The Internet is also reflecting great beauty.
I like the Internet because it is physically, humanly
and spiritually beautiful.

Abdul-Baha says:

“11. O SON OF DUST! Blind thine eyes, that thou mayest behold My beauty; stop thine ears, that thou mayest hearken unto the sweet melody of My voice; empty thyself of all learning, that thou mayest partake of My knowledge; and sanctify thyself from riches, that thou mayest obtain a lasting share from the ocean of My eternal wealth. Blind thine eyes, that is, to all save My beauty; stop thine ears to all save My word; empty thyself of all learning save the knowledge of Me; that with a clear vision, a pure heart and an attentive ear thou mayest enter the court of My holiness.” (Baha’u'llah, The Persian Hidden Words)

IS THIS THE REAL LIFE?

Is this the real life?

Asked By: jellyyyy (18-21, F) 15 minutes ago

Comparing to the life of man, the life of
the animal is non-existent.
Comparing to next life of man, this life
is non-existent.
All the real things here are composed of
physical elements, they all become
non-existent at disintegration.
The soul of man is not composed by
physical elements, so it will exist eternally
in the spiritual realm of God.
We need divine education to have true knowledge
and make preparations for the development
of our soul that it will loyally reflect the beauty of God.
The new culture of our Age is culture of learning.

You don’t know anything at all like me.
You don’t know the origin of the world.
You don’t know the destiny of your life.
You don’t know how many children are
deprived of education.
You don’t know how wide is the Internet….
Moreover, I don’t know who you are and
who I am.
I don’t know how good is this question and answer.
I don’t know why I write these lines now….

WHAT DO YOU REGRET?

What do you regret?

Not working enough for the education of children.
From now on, I must think more, say more
and do more, not only about education of children,
but concretely in providing education to all children.
This realization is evidently good for all people,
so nobody will oppose it, but all can give their support
by practicing right in their family, in their neighborhood.
Yes, we need no funds, no facilities, we only need
the acting of parents, relatives and any voluntary helpers.
If you see that this is good, please do your own job;
one educated child is one world builder in the next few years.
As for Baha’is, we already have the framework of
4 core activities. We need to work harder, more urgently
and more systematically.

IN HARDSHIP WISDOM AND KNOWLEDGE DEVELOP?

In hardship wisdom and knowledge can be found, correct?

Asked By: Transcending (18-21, M) 8 minutes ago

Good Question? (3)

Posted by pukirahe Oct 27th, 2012 at 8:53PM

Right, quite right.
Therefore, divine education encourages parents
to train children in hardship. Children must be
educated and be guided to oercome difficulties,
because life itself is not easy.
Wisdom and knowledge do not develop peacefully
with age. They are developed by love, by sacrifice,
by bearing the sufferings of the world. Storms,
earthquakes, landslides… do not occur for fear,
but for triumph with greater knowledge and wisdom.
And this is the eternal way of civilization.
Sleep, rest, comfort… are not supporters of civilization.
Blessed the kids who are educated in hardship.

WHY QUITTING THE GAME OF LIFE?

Why should i quit the game of life?

Asked By: Kryptal (18-21, M) 17 minutes ago

Good Question? (3)

Posted by pukirahe Oct 27th, 2012 at 6:18PM

Firstly life is not a game.
If it is a game, then we must quit it
for more thrilling games.
Finally, no game is leading to any life purpose.
Moreover, it creates lots of fools who claim to be losers.
Life is the most sacred existence to advance purposefully.
It is not to win any award or championship as in games,
but it is to attain blissful immortality.
I am thankful to God for giving me the life of an
intelligent being like all other individuals among the human race.

Baha’u’llah says:

“I recognize, moreover, that were any of the revelations of Thy names and Thine attributes to be withheld, though it be the weight of a grain of mustard seed, from whatsoever hath been created by Thy power and begotten by Thy might, the foundations of Thine everlasting handiwork would thereby be made incomplete, and the gems of Thy Divine wisdom would become imperfect. For the letters of negation, no matter how far they may be removed from the holy fragrances of Thy knowledge, and however forgetful they may become of the wondrous splendors of the dawning light of Thy beauty, which are shed from the heaven of Thy majesty, must needs exist in Thy realm, so that the words which affirm Thee may thereby be exalted.”
