Good Question? (8)

Smiling face.
It shows that the person is happy, friendly, positive.
It is hard for unhappy people to smile. Therefore,
for obtaining a smiling face we have to learn
thinking positively.
When I am sad for my ignorance, I try to learn more.
That sadness will disappear when I find the source
of knowledge.
When I am sad for other children being deprived of
education, I try harder to do something for them. When I
have chance to educate a child, or reminding someone
else to do so, my sadness will turn into joy.
I also pray for guidance and protection,
so God will give me inspiration to overcome
unpleasant feelings.
Yes, I love and admire smiling faces.

Abdul-Baha says:

“Turn to God, supplicate humbly at His threshold, seeking assistance and confirmation, that God may rend asunder the veils that obscure your vision. Then will your eyes be filled with illumination, face to face you will behold the reality of God and your heart become completely purified from the dross of ignorance, reflecting the glories and bounties of the Kingdom.”

PEOPLE HAVE OTHER REFUGE THAN GOD?

Do the poor have no other refuge than God?

Asked By: sliderules (31-35) 16 minutes ago

Posted by pukirahe Oct 19th, 2012 at 5:21AM

The poor, the rich, the awakenned… have no other refuge
than God. Fortress, wealth, enlightenment… are not refuge.
Refuge in God is not like hiding in an invincible stronghold.
It is living in the face of all threats to reach the good pleasure
of the living God.
This living depends on knowledge of one’s own spirit,
its development by divine education and its eternal
advancement through all the worlds of God. The closer
the spirit can commune with the Holy Spirit, the safer
is its life. While livng on earth, this communion can be
attained through reading the sacred verses, meditations
and translating its meanings into actions for the benefit
of all mankind.

The Bab says:

No refuge do I have to flee to save Thee. None among Thy creatures can dare to intercede with Thyself without Thy leave. I hold fast to Thy love before Thy court, and, according to Thy bidding, I earnestly pray unto Thee as befitteth Thy glory. I beg Thee to heed my call as Thou hast promised me. Verily Thou art God; no God is there but Thee. Alone and unaided, Thou art independent of all created things. Neither can the devotion of Thy lovers profit Thee, nor the evil doings of the faithless harm Thee. Verily Thou art my God, He Who will never fail in His promise.” (The Bab, Selections from the Writings of the Bab, p. 204)

WASHING HANDS EACH DAY?

How many times a day do you wash your hands?

Asked By: hadyourchance (31-35, F) 24 minutes ago

I wash mine 20-30 times a day. I’ve been told that’s a bit excessive.

Good Question? (5)

Posted by pukirahe Oct 9th, 2012 at 7:12PM

3 times before prayers
6 times before and after meals
about 10 times for other occasions.
My washing hands is not only for cleanliness
but most importantly for power and protection
as taught in the Holy Books:

“Whoso wisheth to pray, let him wash his hands, and while he washeth, let him say:
Strengthen my hand, O my God, that it may take hold of Thy Book with such steadfastness that the hosts of the world shall have no power over it. Guard it, then, from meddling with whatsoever doth not belong unto it. Thou art, verily, the Almighty, the Most Powerful.”
(Baha’u’llah, Prayers and Meditations by Baha’u’llah, p. 313)

I am thankful to God because He always answers my prayers.
When I see no concrete things as I imagined, I may wrongly
think that He rejects my prayers, but with more meditation
I realize that He answers my prayers by His way.
For example, I pray God for guidance, I always realize that His
guidance is clear and powerful.
He guides me to the reading of His sacred verses,
to the meanings, to the practice for accomplishing my
life as a world citizen.
In performing the function of a world citizen,
I keep on praying for guidance to overcome new obstacles.
Then, He shows me more Books, more views of other people,
more glad-tidings about new world tendency, so I can modify
my activities.
Therefore, I keep on praying for guidance, and from His omniscience,
He always answers in new ways with new power and new inspiration.

Only God is good, because He is omniscient
and omnipotent.
It may take millennia for me to fathom the
mysteries of His goodness.
By His love, another mystery, He makes me
without my knowing, why, how, for what…?
With long quest, I know that love is giivng
unconditionally, selflessly, willingly…
and I wonder how can reach His goodness
by practicing this love?
For the moment, I really don’t know whether
I am good or bad. So, I tell myself to keep on
learning and practicing with all my efforts and my
sincerity in trusting His Guidance and Support.
I don’t know whether am I good, but I never dare
decide to prove my impotence by conducting
a bad life. Hence, I also pray and pray and pray.

“For the attributes of the people of faith are justice and fair-mindedness; forbearance and compassion and generosity; consideration for others; candor, trustworthiness, and loyalty; love and loving-kindness; devotion and determination and humanity. YOUR OPINION ON YOUR OPINION?

What is your opinion on your opinion?

It’s a fact!

Good Question? (5)

Posted by pukirahe Sep 9th, 2012 at 9:45PM

Truth is relative, so I keep on reconsidering my opinions.
Today I say family is the loftiest object of my love.
The next day I may consider whether fatherland should
come first.
Then I may think Vietnam (my father’s side), China (my
mother’s side), America (my grandchildren’s side), Israel
(my Holy Land), Persia (homeland of Baha’u’llah)… what
should be my first priority. Perhaps, love of the whole world would
be perfect.
I am thanful to God for bestowing intelligence on all mankind
in order that we can rethink, redefine our opinions, and to
redo our life more harmoniously with various laws (natural,
social, divine). Otherwise, we may keep on struggling
against ourselves instinctly like the lower creatures.

Abdul-Baha says:

“Man has ever longed for a direct means of communication with his Lord and has ever been in a state of anticipation for the unique advent on this earth of a divine being. The followers of all religions have been expecting the coming of a promised one and have longingly prayed for the dawn of the sun of truth. Alas! A thousand times alas! that when he appeared they remained of the heedless, nor turned their faces toward him. Pitiful indeed is their condition! In lamentation, during the darkness of night they prayed for the light of a new day; but when it dawned from the eastern horizon they cried clamorously: “Where is the sun? We do not see it!” They are of those who are bereft of sight.”

Yes I pray to God.
I have complete trust in God.
I read prayrers revealed by the Messenger of God.
I turn to God for guidance and assistance.
In doing like this, I understand the Will of God.
I observe God’s precepts based on the fear of God.
And I see more clearly the divine bestowals
for myself and for all mankind.
Therefore, I am spending more and more time
fro prayers and meditations.

GREATEST COMMANDMENT HARDEST TO ACHIEVE?

Why is the greatest commandment(to love) the hardest to achieve?

This depends on personal understanding.
He who knows well why and how, can
achieve it immediately. It is the case
of the saints in the early years of a religion.

Baha’u’llah, the Messenger of God for this Age
of human maturiy has revealed a huge Book of
Prayers and Meditations. I can pray for anything
on any moment of my life by using these sacred verses,
meditating on them and trying to translate the meanings

“All laud and honor to Thee, O my God! Thou well knowest the things which, for a score of years, have happened in Thy days, and have continued to happen until this hour. No man can reckon, nor can any tongue tell, what hath befallen Thy chosen ones during all this time. They could obtain no shelter, nor find any refuge in which they could abide in safety. Turn, then, O my God, their fear into the evidences of Thy peace and Thy security, and their abasement into the sovereignty of Thy glory, and their poverty into Thine all-sufficient riches, and their distress into the wonders of Thy perfect tranquillity.”
