Good Question? (19)

Posted by pukirahe Nov 8th, 2012 at 6:15PM

Religion is not a thing to use as a sacrifice.
Religion is not a thing to be forgotten.
Religion is not a thing to be possessed or lost.
Religion is not a label to bear or to throw away.
Religion is not a blind belief.
Religion is not a primitive superstition.
Religion is not a traditional sentiment.
Religion is not a theist congregation.
Religion is not what people know or imagine.
Religion is divine education from God
teaching man why and how they can love profoundly
and selflessly all mankind. This education is not
a physical heritage, it is truth perceived
and practiced sincerely by personal learning
through the Holy Books revealed by the successive
Divne Messengers of God, such as Buddha, Christ, Baha’u'llah….

Abdul-Baha says:

“People have a superstitious respect for certain doctrines which are against science and the wise men of the country have thought that religion is opposed to science. Know thou that the great ethical foundation of knowledge is divine revelation and the basis of religion is reality itself. It is like unto the sun which shines on all things making them clear and luminous, whereas lesser lights as well as superstitious beliefs illumine but one aspect of things leaving room for shade and doubt.

“I have great confidence in the wisdom and understanding of the world leaders of thought that they may discover this reality.”

Good Question? (3)

Posted by pukirahe Oct 17th, 2012 at 10:52PM

My religious belief does not build walls to separate
me from the rest of the human race, because it says:
in reality there is only One God, One Religion, One Mankind.
Any doctrines, ideologies, philosophies that cause divisions
among mankind are not worth believing, following or mentioning.
All men are born by the breath of the Holy Spirit,
therefore, they are all spiritual.
When they know and accept this truth, they are religious.
Religious is not entering an isolated circle, but to reach
out to all the children of God in love, respect and cooperation
to do the Will of God.
I believe that, as a human being, I am spiritual
and religious like all other beings. I see no separation
to any one even s/he denies the existence of God.
In history, many deniers have become great believers
like Saul becoming Saint Paul.

Abdul-Baha says:

“Reality does not admit of multiplicity although each of the divine religions is separable into two divisions. One concerns the world of morality and the ethical training of human nature. It is directed to the advancement of the world of humanity in general; it reveals and inculcates the knowledge of God and makes possible the discovery of the verities of life. This is ideal and spiritual teaching, the essential quality of divine religion and not subject to change or transformation. It is the one foundation of all the religions of God. Therefore the religions are essentially one and the same.”

Ignorance.
I will turn all ignorant people into knowledgeable
by education. Yes, education for all.
Each and all human beings are born equally
with intelligence to develop into masters of
the world. Deprivation of education for the masses
throughout history is the biggest crime
of kings, emperors, priests, ruling class.
Now, with the Internet, let us get our knowledge
for a life of dignity, of freedom and of happiness.
Each and all should use knowledge to conduct
one’s own life without subordinating to anyone else.
Yes, we are all equal. The more we have knowledge,
the more we will truly become equal.

GREATEST INVENTION HAS YET TO COME?

Do you think the greatest invention of Mankind has yet to come?

Asked By: 4thdimensiondream (56-60, M) 48 minutes ago

Not yet.
The greatest one now is the Internet, the virtual world.
But it was invented when mankind was still immature,
divided, confusing.
The greatest invention of mankind will come after 2021,
that is after world peace, when all mankind truly cooperate
in building the Kingdom of God on earth. We will no longer
interest in the virtual world, but in the real spiritual world.
From then on we will understand what is the world of Revelation
and we healthily make our amazing journey in it.
Our so-called real world may expand to the whole solar system,
and our world of Revelation will be the complete immensity.
Blessed are the generations of man after 2021.

“Universal peace is assured by Bahá’u'lláh as a fundamental accomplishment of the religion of God — that peace shall prevail among nations, governments and peoples, among religions, races and all conditions of mankind. This is one of the special characteristics of the Word of God revealed in this Manifestation.

Bahá’u'lláh declares that all mankind should attain knowledge and acquire an education. This is a necessary principle of religious belief and observance, characteristically new in this dispensation.”

LOOKING FOR NEW RELIGION?

need a religion that doesn’t sound like total bull after a bit. catholicism is out.

Good Question? (4)

Posted by pukirahe Oct 3rd, 2012 at 7:38PM

God does not give a new religion, He always
renews His eternal Cause from Age to Age,
for mankind to see the Divine Unity.
Religion is not a man-made religious association,
but the Divine Education, which is the source
of all learning and knowledge.
In order to recognize a philosophy, we must learn
to understand what is philosophy and read books
relating to it. For recognizing religion, we must also
read Holy Books brought down by the Messengers of
God and practice them. Hearsays, formalities, ceremonies
have nothing to do with religion.
All men are born with intelligence to independently
seek for the truth. True seekers will surely reach their goal.

Denial of the civilizations founded by Buddhism, Christianity, Hinduism… is clear proof of prejudice. No human learnings can lead to such glories. No deniers can give any arguments against the commands in the Holy Books.

Abdul-Baha says:

“Although to acquire the sciences and arts is the greatest glory of mankind, this is so only on condition that man’s river flow into the mighty sea, and draw from God’s ancient source His inspiration. When this cometh to pass, then every teacher is as a shoreless ocean, every pupil a prodigal fountain of knowledge. If, then, the pursuit of knowledge lead to the beauty of Him Who is the Object of all Knowledge, how excellent that goal; but if not, a mere drop will perhaps shut a man off from flooding grace, for with learning cometh arrogance and pride, and it bringeth on error and indifference to God.”

GOOD IDEA BEING MISUSED?

Has there ever been a good idea (based on good intentions), that has not been perverted or misused after some time?

Asked By: Spann0r (26-30, M) 14 minutes ago

It appears to me, that if you come up with something good, something to help people, at some point in time someone will find a way to twist it around and abuse it.

Posted by pukirahe Sep 30th, 2012 at 5:33PM

We are not omniscient.
Life is changing.
We are living in a relative world
with the mingling of light and darkness,
hence all truths are relative.
That is why we should not judge other people.
That is why we should not impose our ideal on the world.
That is why we should rethink our thinking….
Life harmony cannot be established by sage kings
and absolute obedient subjects,
but by free and frank consultations among all citizens.
At present, democracy + aristocracy + free press
seems preferable.

Abdul-Baha says:

“Consider whether there exists anywhere in creation a principle mightier in every sense than religion, or whether any conceivable power is more pervasive than the various Divine Faiths, or whether any agency can bring about real love and fellowship and union among all peoples as can belief in an almighty and all-knowing God, or whether except for the laws of God there has been any evidence of an instrumentality for educating all mankind in every phase of righteousness.

Those qualities which the philosophers attained when they had reached the very heights of their wisdom, those noble human attributes which characterized them at the peak of their perfection, would be exemplified by the believers as soon as they accepted the Faith.” (Abdu’l-Baha, The Secret of Divine Civilization, p. 83)

Lack of education – universally spiritual education.
With national systems of education, we are reaching
the present level of science, technology and social skills.
But, we are still suspecting, hating, narrow-minded.
In the name of self-defence, of security, of benefits,
we still allow ourselves to ignore the injuries we
may cause to people of other countries, and we still
waste huge sums on money on defence.
If the proper education can cause us to think like
a world citizen, we may easily save our world. Wasted
money in military efforts can be used to do all social good
and spiritual development for a brighter future.
The root of all evil is our wrong thinking. We will think
right when we are educated rightly. We will correct
ourself instead of blaming others as we are doing now.
Nobody is to be blamed: we are at this level because
our education is only that high. For radical change of the
world we need urgently an education to equip young people
with powers to live as world citizens.
Willing or not, we must try to make change. World problems
cannot be solved with national spirit.

Baha’u’llah says:

“Let your vision be world-embracing, rather than confined to your own self. The Evil One is he that hindereth the rise and obstructeth the spiritual progress of the children of men.

It is incumbent upon every man, in this Day, to hold fast unto whatsoever will promote the interests, and exalt the station, of all nations and just governments. Through each and every one of the verses which the Pen of the Most High hath revealed, the doors of love and unity have been unlocked and flung open to the face of men. We have erewhile declared — and Our Word is the truth — : “Consort with the followers of all religions in a spirit of friendliness and fellowship.”  (Baha’u'llah, Gleanings from the Writings of Baha’u'llah, p. 94)

RELIGION TAUGHT IN ALL WORLD SCHOOLS?

Should religions be taught in school as part of a social studies curriculum to help students better understand the world

Asked By: BamPow (41-45, M) 35 minutes ago

….or should they be off limits even in a purely historical context?

Good Question? (3)

Posted by pukirahe Sep 30th, 2012 at 2:52AM

Yes, but religion in general, not a particular one.
Sooner or later, all schools should introduce
religion to pupils, because this is the most important
subject for human life, the divine education.
This also depends much on the concept of the
Ministers of Education and other educators about
religion, to avoid all supersitions, prejudices, controversies.
Perhaps this will take deeper consultations among
among secular and spiritual educators.
This will be good only when the teachers have the
general consent that true religion must be divine
for the establishment of love, unity, peace.
Otherwise this education may cause more injuries
to tender minds.

Abdul-Baha says:

“True religion is the basis of divine civilization. Material civilization is like unto the body; divine civilization is like unto the spirit. A body without the spirit is dead, although it may be clothed in the utmost beauty and comeliness.

In short, by religion we mean those necessary bonds which have power to unify. This has ever been the essence of the religion of God. This is the eternal bestowal of God! This is the object of divine teachings and laws! This is the light of the everlasting life!” (Abdu’l-Baha, Divine Philosophy, p. 160)

IS BUDDISM MONOTHEISTIC?

Is buddism monotheistic?

Asked by Mikayla 18 hours ago

Posted by Cleth

Buddhism is monotheistic like other world religions.
Some people falsely think that Hinduism is polytheistic
and Buddhism polytheistic or only philosophy!
The reason is that people don’t study the Sacred Scriptures
but making conclusions based on corrupted rituals.
In the Bhagavad Gita, the Supreme God converses with
Lord Krishna. But in the time of Buddha, God has been
worshipped in various forms of ridiculous idols, so He restores
the sacredness of God with meaningful words such as Nirvana,
Voidness, Suchness… which are of supreme nature.
In reality, Krishna and Buddha are Manifestations of God
with divine omniscience and omnipotence. And these two
religions have given us glorious civilizations no less than
the Abrahamic religions.
All major world religions are the same on spiritual verities,
with little difference on applications of social laws. All their
true believers are great saints, imams, boddhisatvas…

“My purpose is to explain to you that it is your duty to guard the religion of God so that none shall be able to assail it outwardly or inwardly. If you find harmful teachings are being set forth by some individual, no matter who that individual be, even though he should be my own son, know, verily, that I am completely severed from him. If anyone speaks against the Covenant, even though he should be my son, know that I am opposed to him. Those who speak falsehoods, who covet worldly things and seek to accumulate the riches of this earth are not of me.
