BEAUTY PAGEANTS: HELPFUL OR HARMFUL?

Beauty Pageants: Helpful or Harmful?

Good Question? (5)

Harmful.
Beauty is not in the eyes of beholders,
especially inner beauty.
Such competions cause too much waste
of time, money and labor. Moreover it gives
too much stress on physical attraction, which
is not the true esteem of human beings.
Such efforts should be directed to education
that will create builders of a richer, more peaceful,
more beautiful world.
No beauty queens can be compared to an
educated mother who knows how to educate
her children.

Abdul-Baha says:

“Arise! Put forth a supreme effort, secure some new and heavenly attraction – that this Europe may be set in motion, for it is lamentable that it should be deprived of the heavenly wisdom; lamentable that it knows nothing of the heavenly rays; that is has not the health of the Holy Spirit; that a being of such great beauty should have no soul; that so exquisite a flower should have no scent; that so magnificent a structure should have no light. Do not remain inactive for one moment, perchance you may shed light in this darkness.”

WHAT YOUR INNER VOICE IS TELLING YOU?

What’s your inner voice telling you?

Asked By: bornconfused (18-21, F) 13 minutes ago

It tells me that I should try my best in educating myself
to conduct a good life.
I must educate my children and encourage them to
educate themselves and their children to conduct
a good life.
My family should also participate in educating other
children for the same purpose. Education of girls
should be given higher priority, because they will
become mothers and first teachers of their children.
This, and this alone, will create a better world for all
people, especially the poor people who are suffering
for centuries.
Without education no problems will be solved and
each individual life cannot be transformed. Education
will enable each individual to create transformation
from inside, with new vision, new thoughts, new way
of free and independent life.
Yes, universal education for all children is most
important, most essential, most urgent.

Baha’u’llah says:

“I beseech Thee, O God of bounty and King of all created things, to guard Thy servants from the imaginations which their hearts may devise. Raise them up, then, to such heights that their footsteps may slip not in the face of the evidences of Thy handiwork, which the manifold exigencies of Thy wisdom have ordained, and whose secrets Thou hast hid from the face of Thy people and Thy creatures. Withhold them not, O my Lord, from the ocean of Thy knowledge, neither do Thou deprive them of what Thou didst destine for such of Thy chosen ones as have near access to Thee, and those of Thy trusted ones as are wholly devoted to Thy Self.” (Baha’u’llah, Prayers and Meditations by Baha’u’llah, p. 283)

EXCHANGING RELIGION FOR LOVE?

Would you sacrifice your Religion for someone you truly love?

Asked By: NnaesoR (22-25, F) 34 minutes ago, 3 days left to answer.

Good Question? (19)

Posted by pukirahe Nov 8th, 2012 at 6:15PM

Religion is not a thing to use as a sacrifice.
Religion is not a thing to be forgotten.
Religion is not a thing to be possessed or lost.
Religion is not a label to bear or to throw away.
Religion is not a blind belief.
Religion is not a primitive superstition.
Religion is not a traditional sentiment.
Religion is not a theist congregation.
Religion is not what people know or imagine.
Religion is divine education from God
teaching man why and how they can love profoundly
and selflessly all mankind. This education is not
a physical heritage, it is truth perceived
and practiced sincerely by personal learning
through the Holy Books revealed by the successive
Divne Messengers of God, such as Buddha, Christ, Baha’u’llah….

“People have a superstitious respect for certain doctrines which are against science and the wise men of the country have thought that religion is opposed to science. Know thou that the great ethical foundation of knowledge is divine revelation and the basis of religion is reality itself. It is like unto the sun which shines on all things making them clear and luminous, whereas lesser lights as well as superstitious beliefs illumine but one aspect of things leaving room for shade and doubt.

BELIEVING IN INVISIBLE THINGS?

¿Why believe in Satan, but not Santa?

Good Question? (3)

Posted by pukirahe Nov 7th, 2012 at 5:45PM

Because visible things are not real.
The village where I was born is now
only a ricefield, the road I used to walk
on is now covered with grass, the friends
I played together in childhood have disappeared.
The virtual world is so real that all my activities
are performed up here: learning, exchanging
opinions, getting accurate information about the
achievements of co-religionists in other countries….
It seems that the mature humanity will spend more
time for meditation about the invisible world of Revelation.

Abdul-Baha says:

“Man has a sacred power which permits him to discover the inner significances, the reality of invisible things. Ponder over these statements, so that the portals of divine wisdom and infinite knowledge may open before thy face.

I wish to awaken you out of your deep slumber. Do you know in what day you are living? Do you realize in what dispensation you exist? Have you not read in the holy scriptures that at the consummation of the ages there would dawn a day — the sum total of all past days? This is the day when the Lord of hosts hath come on the clouds of glory.” (Abdu’l-Baha, Divine Philosophy, p. 37)

I WOULD RATHER LIVE IN IGNORANCE?

Fearful of the truth, I hid, id rather live in ignorance, would you?

Asked By: deleriously (41-45, M) 22 minutes ago.

Good Question? (3)

Posted by pukirahe Nov 6th, 2012 at 4:36PM

Fear itself is bad; fear of truth is the worst,
because this is fear of something we don’t know yet.
Yes, what is truth? We all don’t know.
But once we ask questions, as rational beings,
we must try our best to get the answers.
Truth is reality that we can define, describe
and apply for the betterment of our life.
At the beginning of this Age of human maturity
we have our new Educator, but most of us have
not yet submit under His education.
We have to seek for Him to get the clear
knowledge as people in the past did under
the guidance of Buddha, Christ, Muhammad….
This new Messenger of God, the Promised One
of all religions, will lead us to
all truth and truth will set us free.
No, mankind can never live in ignorance.

Asked By: littleman013 (18-21, M) 30 minutes ago

Getting true knowledge by divine education.
The more a person knows, loves and does the
Will of God, the more he becomes strong.
He goes through life peacefully without relying
on any worldly powers.
He does not show his strength to human eyes,
but he silently overcomes the difficulties that the
strongest men cannot bear.
This knowledge is not the results of reading Holy Books,
but of translating the meanings of the sacred verses
into actions.
This education is now available for all people in real life
as well as on the Internet.

Nay, and to this Thy might beareth me witness! Had not every tribulation been made the bearer of Thy wisdom, and every ordeal the vehicle of Thy providence, no one would have dared oppose us, though the powers of earth and heaven were to be leagued against us. WHY QUITTING THE GAME OF LIFE?

Why should i quit the game of life?

Asked By: Kryptal (18-21, M) 17 minutes ago

Good Question? (3)

Posted by pukirahe Oct 27th, 2012 at 6:18PM

Firstly life is not a game.
If it is a game, then we must quit it
for more thrilling games.
Finally, no game is leading to any life purpose.
Moreover, it creates lots of fools who claim to be losers.
Life is the most sacred existence to advance purposefully.
It is not to win any award or championship as in games,
but it is to attain blissful immortality.
I am thankful to God for giving me the life of an
intelligent being like all other individuals among the human race.

Baha’u’llah says:

“I recognize, moreover, that were any of the revelations of Thy names and Thine attributes to be withheld, though it be the weight of a grain of mustard seed, from whatsoever hath been created by Thy power and begotten by Thy might, the foundations of Thine everlasting handiwork would thereby be made incomplete, and the gems of Thy Divine wisdom would become imperfect. For the letters of negation, no matter how far they may be removed from the holy fragrances of Thy knowledge, and however forgetful they may become of the wondrous splendors of the dawning light of Thy beauty, which are shed from the heaven of Thy majesty, must needs exist in Thy realm, so that the words which affirm Thee may thereby be exalted.”

HAVING SO MUCH LOVE TO GIVE?

I Have So Much Love To Give, Do You ?

Asked By: primnproper (41-45, F) 36 minutes ago

Good Question? (5)

Posted by pukirahe Oct 27th, 2012 at 5:45PM

I love and I feel being loved, but I don’t see it
as something to give or to receive. It is as light
that shines from the heart, we don’t reveive love
but we reflect love. Yes, it is just shining and
reflecting, and all bathe in happiness.
Loyalty between lovers is something more than love.
It is duty to maintain the sacredness of family institution.
The next generation will suffer badly if their parents
fail to observe this sacredness.
That is why, although lovers are fully happy with one another,
they still need education to know and to preserve family
unity.
We need education, not only for degrees to get high jobs,
but also for more important goals such as establishing
family, nurturing healthy children, carrying forward an
ever-advancing civilization….

WHY LOOKING FOR SUPERNATURAL EXPLANATION?

Why do so many people look for some supernatural explanation for everything?

Asked By: knel123 (26-30) 18 minutes ago

Good Question? (6)

Posted by pukirahe Oct 27th, 2012 at 3:51AM

Because everything is supernatural.
What is matter? What is anti-matter?
What is dark matter? When scientists
make statement concerning matter,
do they give natural explanation?
I really don’t believe that they have narural
knowledge about anything. They only make
assumptions and try to use experiments to prove
that what they think is true. As for missing links,
they don’t care. When what they say would be
proved as false, they already died, and people
keep quiet as respect to dead people!
I don’t oppose science or scientists. But let them
know that they need to get education from
higher and more perfect educators. And I believe in
divine educators without shouting “down with secular
learners”, because I am also ignorant like them.

Thinking more, speaking less.
Doing much, talking little.
Dancing often, singing all the time.

Temper words with love.
Using pictures, symbols, music…
But why fear stupidity, when foolish words save lives:
Don’t kill them, the criminal of war is me.

“Consort with all men, O people of Baha, in a spirit of friendliness and fellowship. If ye be aware of a certain truth, if ye possess a jewel, of which others are deprived, share it with them in a language of utmost kindliness and good-will. If it be accepted, if it fulfil its purpose, your object is attained. If any one should refuse it, leave him unto himself, and beseech God to guide him. Beware lest ye deal unkindly with him. A kindly tongue is the lodestone of the hearts of men. It is the bread of the spirit, it clotheth the words with meaning, it is the fountain of the light of wisdom and understanding….”
