Where to go when both ways look the same? the road not taken?

Best Answer – Chosen by Asker

The way of Greater Light – this can be distinguished by our own mind.

No two ways are the same, but 1001 ways may lead to one destination.

A culture is considred as a way; people from various cultures consider themselves as strangers, or even enemies.

A branch of learning may be considered as a road; people from various branches of learning, may considered other learners as ignorant!

A believer of a religion, of a philosophic ideology, of a scientific theory…may consider people of other religions, ideologies, theories…as backward, supersticious, being brainwashed!

Today, there are perhaps no two persons who tread on the same straight path to reach the same noble destination! Why is it so and how to attain world unity?

Why dare I bring up such a great theme and who can give the persuading answer?

I bring up the matter, because Abdul-Baha says that it is essential for the knowledge and development of all human beings:

“…the forms and organisms of phenomenal being and existence in each of the kingdoms of the universe are myriad and numberless. The vegetable plane or kingdom for instance has its infinite variety of types and material structures of plant life, each distinct and different within itself, no two exactly alike in composition and detail, for there are no repetitions in nature, and the virtue augmentative cannot be confined to any given image or shape. Each leaf has its own particular identity, so to speak, its own individuality as a leaf. Therefore each atom of the innumerable elemental atoms, during its ceaseless motion through the kingdoms of existence as a constituent of organic composition, not only becomes imbued with the powers and virtues of the kingdoms it traverses but also reflects the attributes and qualities of the forms and organisms of those kingdoms. As each of these forms has its individual and particular virtue, therefore each elemental atom of the universe has the opportunity of expressing an infinite variety of those individual virtues. No atom is bereft or deprived of this opportunity or right of expression. “ (Abdu’l-Baha, Foundations of World Unity, p. 57)

And He Himself has given the answer about World Unity:

This is a new cycle of human power. All the horizons of the world are luminous, and the world will become indeed as a garden and a paradise. It is the hour of unity of the sons of men and of the drawing together of all races and all classes. You are loosed from ancient superstitions which have kept men ignorant, destroying the foundation of true humanity.

The gift of God to this enlightened age is the knowledge of the oneness of mankind and of the fundamental oneness of religion. War shall cease between nations, and by the will of God the Most Great Peace shall come; the world will be seen as a new world, and all men will live as brothers.” (Abdu’l-Baha, Abdu’l-Baha in London, p. 19)

When we believe that God has forgiven us, does it hurt more when other people bring IT up?

IT being a sin that we had done a long time ago. How would you look at the person who did would you judge them back or what.

God’s forgiveness secures the life of your soul. Man’s condemnation or accusation is only relating to your body. They may kill your body, but they can never touch your soul.

5:21 And the scribes and the Pharisees began to reason, saying, Who is this which speaketh blasphemies? Who can forgive sins, but God alone? 5:22 But when Jesus perceived their thoughts, He answering said unto them, What reason ye in your hearts? 5:23 Whether is easier, to say, Thy sins be forgiven thee; or to say, Rise up and walk? 5:24 But that ye may know that the Son of man hath power upon earth to forgive sins, (He said unto the sick of the palsy,) I say unto thee, Arise, and take up thy couch, and go into thine house.”

“5:25 And immediately he rose up before them, and took up that whereon he lay, and departed to his own house, glorifying God.”

(King James Bible, Luke)

I am wondering about the number of people who have read and believed in these divinely beautiful words of the Bible? As a Baha’i, I believe that, once I am forgiven by God, then I am completely happy like this paralysed man, and no words of men can cause me to worry. Are they any better than the scribes and the Phariees to judge other people, including the Son of Man?! Now, where and how are those self-righteous Pharisees; where and how are the saints that they have killed; and where and how are the murderers that they have praised as saints?! Why don’t they judge themselves and who on earth will judge them?

But what is sin and what is forgiveness? Sin is not an ugly scar on a man’s face to tell the world that he is a bad person. Forgiveness is not the unconditional pardon at the court of justice (by giving him a nice mask to cover the scar), then the man can go out to perpetrate other hidden crimes (with the fear of being caught or being told about the scar under the mask)!

Sin is any thoughts, words or actions against the Will of God, although it is not discovered by anyone else. And God promises to forgive us when we repent. Repentance is not our words before the altar of God that we are very regretful and we will not commit it again. Repentance is our sincere awareness of our disobedience and our voluntary decision to return to the obedience of God, that we will never think, say or do anything against His Teachings. So, the more we learn, the more we will know our own sins and we will know how to repent, without feeling happy or worry depending on the judgement of people around us. Only this divine education will save the world from all sins.

BAHA’U’LLAH, “He Who in such dramatic circumstances was made to sustain the overpowering weight of so glorious a Mission was none other than the One Whom posterity will acclaim, and Whom innumerable followers already recognize, as the Judge, the Lawgiver and Redeemer of all mankind, as the Organizer of the entire planet, as the Unifier of the children of men, as the Inaugurator of the long-awaited millennium, as the Originator of a new “Universal Cycle,” as the Establisher of the Most Great Peace, as the Fountain of the Most Great Justice, as the Proclaimer of the coming of age of the entire  94  human race, as the Creator of a new World Order, and as the Inspirer and Founder of a world civilization.” (Shoghi Effendi, God Passes By, p. 93)

What “oppression” is more grievous than that a soul seeking the truth, and wishing to attain unto the knowledge of God, should know not where to go for it and from whom to seek it? (Baha’u’llah, The Kitab-i-Iqan, p. 31)

“The Revelation which, from time immemorial, hath been acclaimed as the Purpose and Promise of all the Prophets of God, and the most cherished Desire of His Messengers, hath now, by virtue of the pervasive Will of the Almighty and at His irresistible bidding, been revealed unto men. The advent of such a Revelation hath been heralded in all the sacred Scriptures. Behold how, notwithstanding such an announcement, mankind hath strayed from its path and shut out itself from its glory.(Baha’u’llah, Gleanings from the Writings of Baha’u’llah, p. 5)

“Conceive accordingly the distinction, variation, and unity characteristic of the various Manifestations of holiness, that thou mayest comprehend the allusions made by the Creator of all names and attributes to the mysteries of distinction and unity, and discover the answer to thy question as to why that everlasting Beauty should have, at sundry times, called Himself by different names and titles….(Baha’u’llah, Gleanings from the Writings of Baha’u’llah, p. 22)

Trying to chase away a negative thought with a positive one. The first success will lead to the second, and so forth.

The world changes greatly and radically when I voluntarily reduce just one cigarette a day.

The world changes greatly and radically when I willingly show a child how to write the letter B.

The world changes greatly and radically when I consciously and humbly offer a cup of plain water to a thirsty stranger…

Yes, the world is changing tremendously, miraculously, fundamentally when a thoughtful individual does the least good thing in the spirit of improving his own life. The total little bits of faithful, positive, optimist thoughts of billions of people is not at all insignificant. The only problem is that who can cause one individual to act constructively without wondering how other people are doing. Yes, all children are thinking that this is probably the reasonable way: we need not try do good while other people are still doing bad!

Does a ray of light decide to stand still for thinking that other rays might be blocked by storm?

Does a drop of water decide to stop flowing for thinking that other drops are barred by a mountain?

Does a tree decide to stop growing for thinking that other plants are painfully cut down by men?

Right, those things have no power to think, so they act positively without bothering about the actions of their fellows. But, are we wiser than them when deciding not to act maturely by thinking that our fellows are acting immaturely?

I would have not written this post, if I expect that my thinking, saying, acting will affect all people. But, I am assured that my words will force me to act more prudently, because Baha’u’llah says:

“Beware, O people of Baha, lest ye walk in the ways of them whose words differ from their deeds.” (Baha’u’llah, Gleanings from the Writings of Baha’u’llah, p. 305)

“The betterment of the world can be accomplished through pure and goodly deeds, through commendable and seemly conduct.” (Baha’u’llah, quoted by Shoghi Effendi, The Advent of Divine Justice, p. 24)

Why do people never understand me?

Is there something wrong in how I write? (This is not about EP by the way. Just life in general.)

That is your greatness. The plant cannot make people to understand it. You get to know yourself clearly first, then you will know how to communicate with other people, and where are the mutual limitations.

See how many parents become so amazed when their children think and act extraordinarily beyond their comprehension and imagination. And how wrong are other parents who think that they can mold their offsprings into some types of puppets as they wish! And it is not rare of cases where the children abandon families for disappointedly expecting that their parents to understand them. In fact, the feeling of mutual understanding is available only when people sincerely love and sacrify for one another.

Formerly, the philosophers classified men into, say, a thousand and one categories, based on observing their activities and their physical properties. But, the masses may think of about ten categories, such as the masters and the slaves, the poor and the rich, the wise and the fool, then the sentimental, the rational, the spiritual, and the abnormal, the weird, the extraordinary…And there is confusion in each of these categories. Nowadays, we know that each individual is unique with physical fingerprint, ADN, and something else in the mysterious gens. Spiritually speaking, the human soul reflects all the qualities of God, which no computers can illustrate.

That is why, throughout history, the rare sages keep on teaching man the principle of “know thyself and be thyself.” He who learns and practices this principle, becomes king in his particular field; he who does not learn, falls into the oblivion of the great multitude.

So, step by step, in various educational systems of our time, we are replacing the teacher-centered approaches, by pro-active child-centered approaches. The teachers should no longer consider their pupils as white pieces of papers for them to write down their learnings; but they must know that each child is a particular plant to be tendered in its own way. Each plant will contribute its particular leaves, flowers, fruits for the vast human orchard. Morever, the plant is said here as an example; and we must realize that each man has his own mysterious soul to be nurtured with the greatest love and knowledge.

Luckily, great knowledge for all these things are now shared freely and abundantly on the Internet. What we need most now, as teachers, parents, caretakers, is the new cultrure of learning.

Is it okay to hate a parent and never want to see or talk to him again? never want to give him a chance?

My answer | Rating (1)

No okay, never, never and never.
We have no rights to judge other people, more particularly our parents.
Usually, when a person had children, he would regret very much for treating badly his parents.

The betterment of the world cannot be realized with man’s judging and punishing other people. Without divine guidance, our judgement is false and our punishment is unjust, because we are not all-knowing. The UN Security Council will only become effective when the UN members learn to bring sincere love and cooperation to this institution. That is why we are wisely establishing democracies instead of monarchies.

It is bad that parents are judging their children instead of loving them. It is worse that children judge their parents instead of loving them. It is bad that the governments judge their citizens instead of loving them. It is worse that citizens judge the governments instead of loving these institutions that they themselves established. It is bad that the United Nations Organization judges human beings instead loving them. It is worse that mankind judge the United Nations instead of cooperating to improve it and bringing it to perfection as a democratic government.

The positive thinking and acting of each individual is not an insigficant thing. It is truly the foundation of all good. The problem is, due to the wrong thinking and doing in the Age of immaturity, we imagine that only our own ego is good, and our single good ego cannot cause the world to change effectively and positively.

This is why we need a new learning for the radical change. The Baha’is are learning and practicing the Teachings of Baha’u’llah which turn them into a new race of positive and peaceful servants. They don’t think of judging and punishing other people, thanks to this new and powerful lesson:

“The companions of God,” Bahá’u’lláh Himself has declared, “are, in this day, the lump that must leaven the peoples of the world. They must show forth such trustworthiness, such truthfulness and perseverance, such deeds and character that all mankind may profit by their example.” “I swear by Him Who is the Most Great Ocean!” He again affirms, “Within the very breath of such souls as are pure and sanctified far-reaching potentialities are hidden. So great are these potentialities that they exercise their influence upon all created things.” “He is the true servant of God,” He, in another passage has written, “who, in this day, were he to pass through cities of silver and gold, would not deign to look upon them, and whose heart would remain pure and undefiled from whatever things can be seen in this world, be they its goods or its treasures. I swear by the Sun of Truth! The breath of such a man is endowed with potency, and his words with attraction.” “By Him Who shineth above the Dayspring of sanctity!” He, still more emphatically, has revealed, “If the whole earth were to be converted into silver and gold, no man who can be said to have truly ascended into the heaven of faith and certitude would deign to regard it, much less to seize and keep it…. “The betterment of the world,” is  yet another statement, “can be accomplished through pure and goodly deeds, through commendable and seemly conduct.” “Be fair to yourselves and to others,” He thus counseleth them, “that the evidences of justice may be revealed through your deeds among Our faithful servants.” “Equity,” He also has written, “is the most fundamental among human virtues. The evaluation of all things must needs depend upon it.” (Shoghi Effendi, The Advent of Divine Justice, p. 25)

Since time is relative?

What makes the rapture feasible?

Best Answer – Chosen by Asker

Rapture is for the soul which depends not on time and space.

New Addition For This Post

Rapture is spiritual, not physical. However, it causes us to enjoy lasting bliss, physically, mentally and spiritually. Spirituality is sufficient to all and depending not on time and sapce. Nobody can steal, rob, deprive other people from this rapture. Buddha, Christ, Baha’u’llah… do not come to give miraculous rapture to ignorant, arrogant, lazy people. They only teach us all equally how to discover and use our spiritual sight to discover and enjoy our birthright rapture. This education is called spirital or divine education.

Do we see electricity, gravity, the universe…with our physical sight?

Do we see love, beauty, happiness…with our physical sight?

Do we see our body, our mind, our soul with our physical sight?

Definitely, we see none of these things with our physical sight. If we can see them accurately, then there is no need for educators to teach such things in our schools.

Education is the only instrument enabling us to discover our spiritual sight, to develop and to use it. In our schools we are taught only the physical and human education. We need religion to teach us the divine education. Being deprived of one of these three, means deprivation of all. The mature humanity today can get and practice their learning with moderation, therefore, our world civilization will be the brightest and the most balanced.

The essential reality of man is spirit.

The life force of man is love.

The light of guidance for man is physical, human and divine education.

The new foundation for man’s advancement is the culture of learning.

And the true purpose of man is the good pleasure of God, which is truly the  eternal rapture.
