WHY DO PEOPLE ANTHROPOMORPHISE GOD?

What is God? and why do people anthropomorphise the idea of “God”.

People anthropomorphise God because they cannot
understand or imagine any reality beyond their mental
capacity.
When we enter the divine education, with practice of
love, service, meditation, fasting, praying, our spirituality will develop
to conceive the spiritual nature of our soul and its communion with
the Supreme Intelligence to receive inspiration into divine mysteries.
We will become more humble before God, before His Prophets,
before other human beings in learning new lwssons and new ways of
truly spiritual life. As for this education, some people may enter
directly and immediately in communion with God while other may
have to pass centuries, depending on the level of their sincerity
in dealing with God. Those who don’t know accept or reject God noisily;
those who talk about God with caution and reverence like His Prophets.

Abdul-Baha says:

“All superior kingdoms are incomprehensible to the inferior; how therefore could it be possible that the creature, man, should understand the almighty Creator of all?

That which we imagine, is not the Reality of God; He, the Unknowable, the Unthinkable, is far beyond the highest conception of man.” (Abdu’l-Baha, Paris Talks, p. 24)

WHAT DOES IT MEAN TO BE LOVED BY GOD?

What does it exactly mean to be loved by god?

God loves equally all human beings.
The person who learns to know God
and to reciproque properly His love and thankfully receives
His Divine blessings to live happily in all conditions,
that person becomes known concretely as loved by God.

Abdul-Baha says:

“I love you all, you are the children of the Kingdom, and you are accepted of God. Though you may be poor here, you are rich in the treasures of the Kingdom. I am the Servant of the poor. Remember how His Holiness Jesus said: ‘Blessed are the poor!’ If all the queens of the earth were gathered here, I could not be more glad!” (Abdu’l-Baha, Abdu’l-Baha in London, p. 85)

ARE YOU MISSING SOMETHING OR SOMEONE ?

Are you missing something or someone ?

Good Question? (4)

Answer by pukirahe Oct 1st, 2011 at 6:44PM

I miss all things, I gain all things, I lose nothing.
I miss my ancestors, I miss the Milky Way in the morning, I miss
the Presence of God when I attach to earthly things….
I gain the fragrance of rose in the garden, I gain a new breath
for my daily work, I gain access to my EP friends for new learning….
All things belong to God, not to me, so I lose nothing….
Among all matters concerning missing, gaining, losing,,,
I think the most important thing that secures our peaceful mind
is remembrance of God always.

Baha’u’llah says:

“Have ye cast away the precepts of God and His remembrance and have ye forsaken His laws and ordinances? Fear ye God and abandon vain imaginings to the begetters thereof and leave superstitions to the devisers thereof and misgivings to the breeders thereof. Advance ye then with radiant faces and stainless hearts towards the horizon above which the Day-Star of certitude shineth resplendent at the bidding of God, the Lord of Revelations.” (Baha’u’llah, Tablets of Baha’u’llah, p. 104)

WHAT IS TRUE LOVE?

What’s your favorite 4 letter word?

Asked By: skeptic1 7 minutes ago

Answer by pukirahe Oct 1st, 2011 at 5:04PM

LOVE
It not only love from my wife and me.
Not only my love for family, relatives and my country.
The true LOVE is:
Love of God to God
Love of God to all mankind
Love of all mankind to God
Love of all mankind to one another.
I am praying that all people will learn
and practice true love.

Abdul-Baha says:

“I am deeply touched by the sympathetic words which have been addressed to me, and I hope that day by day true love and affection may grow among us. God has willed that love should be a vital force in the world, and you all know how I rejoice to speak of love.” (Abdu’l-Baha, Paris Talks, p. 119)

We don’t know true love

Often it becomes hatred

WHY DO WE HOLD ON THIS IMPERMANENT WORLD?

If everything in life is impermanent, why do we try so hard to hold on, rather than move on?

Impermanent in forms, but permanent in essence.
What will be condition of our life if we do not hold firm to love?

Thank you for your time in responding to one of my questions (Re: impermanence). Your comment immediately brought my mother (who passed away almost 12 years ago) into my thoughts and you’re right, her essence is permanent.

Abdul-Baha says:

“That divine world is manifestly a world of lights; therefore man has need of illumination here. That is a world of love; the love of God is essential. It is a world of perfections; virtues or perfections must be acquired. That world is vivified by the breaths of the Holy Spirit;  in this world we must seek them. That is the Kingdom of life everlasting; it must be attained during this vanishing existence.” (Abdu’l-Baha, Foundations of World Unity, p. 63)
