Most people have the same feeling of loneliness, because each human being is a great mystery. We meet, we look at each other, we talk, and usually we don’t understand even our closest friend. It seems that we can understand people only when we know clearly about our self. We will know how to see, how to think, how to feel, then we start approaching other people’s inner life, which is our real life. We are, in reality, closer spiritually than physically. That is why, today, we can enjoy broader friendship on the Internet, and we become less lonely.
Husband and wife still have two bodies, but they become one in spirit. Their children have less attachment to their bodies than to their souls. This is how we have greater and greater family. With the maturity of the human race, our world is becoming one world family under One Heavenly Father.

 Abdul-Baha says:

“Men are fighting for the possession of the earth. They fight for that which becomes their graves, their cemeteries, their tombs.

In reality all are members of one human family — children of one Heavenly Father. Humanity may be likened unto the vari-colored flowers of one garden. There is unity in diversity. Each sets off and enhances the other’s beauty.”

(Abdu’l-Baha, Divine Philosophy, p. 25)

Understanding oneself first

Then other people
