My question is why many people don’t realize that they need education to live as  true human beings. Most of us were deprived of education, because of war, of poverty, of all sorts of calamities… but when we grow up we still don’t seek for it and don’t send our children to school or to encourage them in seeking for knowledge.

Today, we don’t need formal schools and teachers as in the old days. At home, any pupils can teach us reading and simple mathematics. Then we can continue

the learning of anything on the Internet. As a Vietnamese, I can learn English and other things on YouTube in my national language. Other people can learn in their languages. So, conditions are free and easy for anyone who wants to change their life.

In the last decade of the twentieth century, the UN had a program to eliminate

illiteracy all over the world. Praying that all nations continue to promote

more actively this most important ideal.

 Abdul-Baha says:

“When we consider existence, we see that the mineral, vegetable, animal and human worlds are all in need of an educator. If the earth is not cultivated, it becomes a jungle where useless weeds grow; but if a cultivator comes and tills the ground, it produces crops which nourish living creatures. It is evident, therefore, that the soil needs the cultivation of the farmer.”
