WHAT PARENTING IS ABOUT?

What do you think parenting is about?

I feel parenting is about neutral ground, respect on both sides, patience and understanding. Not about you owning your kids(which you legally and morally don’t), or beating the **** out of your kids if they aren’t obedient little dogs.

Parents are guides, helpers and educators of the greater generation. They are not possessors, shapers and commanders of their kids.
Each child is a human being of a more mature generation. Parents should get good education for themselves and better education for their children. We failed if the next generation of children would not be true builders of world peace.
It is evident that we have greater discoveries and inventions far more marvelous than our ancestors. They did not have the Internet for learning all things, including good parenting, as we have today.
Good parenting is the best and most important work than any other jobs, duties, services on earth. Parenting is the most sacred mission.

 Abdul-Baha says:

“Education holds an important place in the new order of things. The education of each child is compulsory. If there is not money enough in a family to educate both the girl and the boy the money must be dedicated to the girl’s education, for she is the potential mother. If there are no parents the community must educate the child. In addition to this widespread education each child must be taught a profession, art, or trade, so that every member of the community will be enabled to earn his own livelihood. Work done in the spirit of service is the highest form of worship.”
