Buddhists sacrify everything for Buddha, Dharma, God (instead of Sangha). Buddha and God need no sacrifice from human beings; but we sacrify our all as They teach us, so that we can obtain spiritual salvation – that is true immortality.
We don’t have to bribe bikkhus with physical offerings for empty promises. Bikkhus cannot save mankind. In the past, we need to hear the words of Buddha through bikkhus, today we can read them directly.
True Path to salvation is translating the dharma into action. Formalities, rituals, physical offerings … are man made fabrications which only waste our time and wealth.
All religions are like Buddhism as divine education from God. Only learning and practice bring out beneficial fruit.

Abdul-Baha says:

Contemplate first the prejudice of religion: consider the nations of so-called religious people; if they were truly worshippers of God they would obey His law which forbids them to kill one another.

If priests of religion really adored the God of love and served the Divine Light, they would teach their people to keep the chief Commandment, ‘To be in love and charity with all men’. But we find the contrary, for it is often the priests who encourage nations to fight. Religious hatred is ever the most cruel!
