WHY CAN’T SOME PEOPLE ACCEPT THE TRUTH?

Why can’t some people accept the truth?

Truth is quite hard to see and to accept.
Truth is relative: one day it is true, the next day it is false.
A restaurant owner puts up a sign:”You will have free meal tomorow.” The next day you come for free meal, but the owner says: “Sorry sir, today is clearly today.”
The sun gives light, but under the sun there is lots of darkness. It is darkness for physical and spiritual blind people. In realty, not many people enjoy the life-giving benefits of sunlight.
I sincerely say that I love you, but how can I prove that my word is true. And even it is true, my word cannot be trusted, for love with selfish motive also causes injury.
In order to see and to accept the truth, we need to make independent investigation with senses, reasoning, intuition, inspiration and experience. In fact, we are only safe when we consciously attain the knowledge of God. Otherwise, to err – to walk in falsity – is human!

Abdul-Baha says:

Four criterions (for truth) according to the declarations of men are: First, Sense Perception; Second, Reason; Third, Traditions; Fourth, Inspiration.

…. See what catastrophes overwhelm mankind. Consider the wars which disturb the world. Consider the enmity and hatred. The existence of these wars and conditions indicates and proves that the heavenly civilization has not yet been established. If the civilization of the Kingdom be spread to all the nations, this dust of disagreement will be dispelled, these clouds will pass away and the Sun of Reality in its greatest effulgence and glory will shine upon mankind.
