Yes, very often. This is why it is said that “to err is human”.
Error is not good, so we need to think for early adjustment.
It will become worse, and perhaps more difficult for modification, if we intend to ignore our limited intelligence, our limited knowledge, our limited wisdom.
Thinking and rethinking, learning and relearning, repenting and repenting again, will alleviate our regret or eliminate it. Compensations for people we have hurt are also very good, because it requires difficult struggle against self-love, arrogance, conventional face!
Stupidity is darkness of ignorance which can be eliminated only by the light of knowledge, transcendent knowledge. With ordinary knowledge we may see our error, but without angelic virtues we may not humble ourselves with repentance.
God requires us to bring ourselves to account everyday.

31. O SON OF BEING! Bring thyself to account each day ere thou art summoned to a reckoning; for death, unheralded, shall come upon thee and thou shalt be called to give account for thy deeds.

Regret of error
Rethinking and repenting
For God’s forgiveness
