There are physical happiness and spiritual happiness.
Physical happiness passes away quickly, while spiritual happiness will last eternally with us.
Money can buy things we need or we want, but this sometimes is not happiness. We may have to lose spiritual happiness before getting money, such as with worry, with too tiresome labor, or even with illegal means!
Meanwhile, we can enjoy spiritual happiness at all time, in all conditions. Learning and doing good deeds to develop our powers are spiritual happiness. Helping poorer and weaker people is spiritual happiness. Meditation to attain close commuion with God is most sublime happiness.
Hence, for my whole life, I never try to earn money. I try to learn and do the Will of God and my daily happiness is beyond all description.

Abdul-Baha says:

We must forsake all imitations and promote the reality of the divine teachings. In accordance with these principles and actions and by the assistance of the Holy Spirit, both material and spiritual happiness shall become realized. Until all nations and peoples become united by the bonds of the Holy Spirit in this real fraternity, until national and international prejudices are effaced in the reality of this spiritual brotherhood, true progress, prosperity and lasting happiness will not be attained by man.
(Abdu’l-Baha, Baha’i World Faith – Abdu’l-Baha Section, p. 227)

Happiness for man
Divine acceptance of God
By man’s obedience
